The CFO Services team 

Our CFO Services team helps businesses with their financial reporting and accounting needs in all areas of the business lifecycle. The team works across a wide range of industries, to advise clients on matters such as interpretation and implementation of standards, preparation and consolidation of financial statements, and for accounting for business transactions.

Responsibilities

Technical accounting advisory:

  • Provide expert advice on complex accounting issues, including IFRS and Singapore GAAP, helping clients navigate challenges such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and financial instruments. 
  • Assist clients in the preparation of accounting memos and technical position papers on accounting treatments for complex transactions. 
  • Guide clients through the adoption of new accounting standards and compliance with changes in financial reporting regulations. 

Financial statements preparation: 

  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, Singapore GAAP). 
  • Review financial disclosures to ensure they meet regulatory and stakeholder expectations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and completeness. 
  • Lead the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements, coordinating with external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes. 
  • Assist in implementation of automated statutory reporting tools.  

MAS regulatory reporting: 

  • Ensure clients’ financial reporting meets the regulatory requirements set by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), including regulatory returns and MAS-specific financial reports. 
  • Provide technical guidance on MAS regulatory frameworks, assisting clients in managing regulatory changes and ensuring ongoing compliance. 

Stakeholder management: 

  • Build strong relationships with client finance teams, senior management, and regulatory bodies, providing insights on technical accounting and regulatory reporting. 
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including audit, tax, and advisory, to deliver holistic services to clients and address their technical accounting and MAS reporting needs. 

Team leadership & development: 

  • Lead and mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and fostering their development in accounting and regulatory reporting. 
  • Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring timely and high-quality service delivery across financial reporting and regulatory compliance projects. 

Business development: 

  • Identify and capitalise on opportunities to expand technical accounting and MAS reporting services for new and existing clients. 
  • Assist in the development of business proposals and participate in client presentations, supporting the growth of the CFO Advisory practice. 
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives on financial reporting and regulatory compliance topics, particularly in relation to MAS requirements. 

Qualifications and skills

  • Required degree in Accounting or Finance and completed qualification for Singapore CA or international equivalent. 
  • Minimum of 5 year of progressive audit experience, or experience in providing accounting services (bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, accounting advise etc) in a large or mid-tier accounting firm.
  • Experience in MAS reporting preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and financial concepts.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, XERO accounting software and report writing software. 
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites.
